BSI Group announces new senior appointments in Americas

The BSI Group today announced the appointment of Mr Gary Pearsons to the position of President of BSI Inc. Mr Pearsons will take up his new post at the Reston, Virginia HQ of the BSI Group's American management systems operation on June 16.

Mr Pearsons has 25 years of experience as a senior executive, most recently as President of the Automation Services Group of ABB Inc, the US subsidiary of Swiss-based ABB Limited, one of the world's largest engineering, energy and technology companies. Previously Mr Pearsons held remits for operations in both Latin America and Europe and has worked in a broad range of industry sectors.

The BSI Group also announced today that current President, Mr Robert G Perry will take up the role of BSI Inc Chairman and CEO from June 16.

Before joining BSI in April 2000, Mr Perry gained extensive executive experience in major global corporations, including a two-year secondment to the White House. Drawing on this wealth of experience, Mr Perry will be responsible in his new role for representing the interests of the BSI Group in both the public and private sector arenas in the Americas.

Mr Perry, commenting on the new appointments, said, "Mr Pearsons brings with him senior experience at the highest level across a breadth of industries. BSI Inc is already the number one management systems registrar in North America and we are dedicated to expanding our market share and extending the delivery and value of our service to clients. Mr Pearsons appointment is part of the BSI Group's strategic plan to invest in growing our presence in the Americas."
